Where I’ve Been (Spoiler: Not Vacationing in Avalon)
Let’s talk about the glamorous life I’ve been living lately — in the exciting, spellbinding world of… government affairs.
End sarcasm.
Between spreadsheets, policies, and federal-level bureaucracy that makes molasses look fast, I’ve been knee-deep in the kind of work that pays the bills but doesn’t exactly feed the soul. And to top it off, we’re mid-heatwave out here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s the kind of heat that makes your skin question its contract with your body. This isn’t “turn on a fan” heat — this is “I might dissolve into salt and sarcasm” heat. Magical? Not so much. Draining? You bet.
And did I mention I’m doing all of this while riding the wild hormonal rollercoaster of menopause?
Yes, folks.
Heat flashes, insomnia, emotional whiplash, and brain fog so thick I could scry in it — all while working full-time, interviewing for a job that doesn’t drain my spirit, and trying to build a real-life spiritual community from the dirt up.
The real magic?
I haven’t killed a single person.
Not a coworker. Not a recruiter. Not even the guy who told me to “smile more” in 93° weather. That, my friends, is restraint worthy of canonization.
But seriously — I’m still here. Still standing. Still sweating. Still building. And something powerful is on the horizon. I can feel it. Between job transitions and community conjuring, this witch is just getting started.
